Day 2: Trip to Asia

Mmm mmm good. Today marked a successful Day 2 of Paleo for Wilma and Pebbles. Breakfast was a challenge for both of them, but they stuck to it, cruised through lunch and ended the day with a DELICIOUS dinner.

Here was the menu for Day 2:

Breakfast:
Wilma- A banana and some almonds(hearty) and a huge cup of coffee ("I refuse to give up coffee!!")
Pebbles- An abundance of fried eggs! Yummmm. (Apparently I failed by using butter to cook them.. Whoops)

Lunch:
Wilma- Garden salad with shrimp, guacamole and cilantro.
Pebbles- A green salad with grilled chicken and a half quart of raspberries.

And now for the good stuff...
DINNER!

Wilma took to the kitchen once more and if possible outdid herself. The meal started with Wilma's new specialty, kale chips. She created the appetizer by chopping up kale and spicing it up with cumen, olive oil, and a whole bunch of salt before sticking the whole dish in the oven at 350 for 15 minutes. While Wilma worked away in the kitchen at the main meal, Pebbles, Bamm Bamm and Pebbles' bestie Dino lounged. Next thing we knew the teriyaki salmon slathered in ginger, scallions, honey, orange, soy sauce, and sesame oil was being pulled out of the oven. Accompanying the salmon was an asian slaw composed of cabbage, zucchini, carrots, peppers, and edamame drizzled with a rice vinegar/sesame oil/soy sauce/ginger/garlic/dijion mustard/olive oil dressing. Scrumdidliumcious!

Exercise:
Wilma- A two hour walk!
Pebbles- Sprints with the laxers!

Day 1: Sticking to Paleo

"I feel satisfied"- Wilma

Today is Day 1 of Paleo for the Crazy Cave Women of Boston. Wilma and Pebbles, cousins inspired by the diet of CrossFitters across the country, have decided to embark upon a mission (minus the CrossFit).

The Mission
Each day, Wilma and Pebbles will attempt to continue along the Paleo path in hopes of finding new energy and maintaining healthy, active lifestyles. Runners at heart together they will supplement their newly found diet with regular exercise and a pledge to drink more water (despite Wilma's small bladder).

Day 1

Meal: Wilma, being the brilliant cave woman that she is, discovered the gift of fire and baked lemon pepper chicken, sauteed up a mix of onion, garlic, brocoli, edamame, spinach, and asparagus, and finished the dish off with homemade sweet potato fries. Bamm Bamm, the pesky brother of Pebbles and cousin of Wilma, added some almond milk to supplement the meal.

Exercise: A quick trot around their city of stones. (Total Mileage: 2 brontosauruses)
